Couple Working As Caregivers Charged With Theft –

HOOVER, AL — Two people working as caregivers in Hoover have been arrested and charged with multiple offense, including theft and receiving stolen property. Donterra Shapree Jones and Jeffery Wayne Keeth, both of Birmingham, were arrested Tuesday.
Hoover police said at the end of October, a Hoover resident came forward to report some property that had been stolen from their home. The victim had been using a caregiving service to assist around the house.
“After noticing some items and an undetermined amount of cash missing, the victim contacted Hoover police,” Officer Brian Hale of the Hoover Police Department said in a statement. “Through the investigation, detectives discovered that some of the victim’s property had been pawned
at several local pawn shops.”
After being booked into the Hoover City Jail, Jones and Keeth were then transferred to the Jefferson County Jail. Jones faces the theft of property charge in Shelby County once her $40,000 bond in Jefferson county is posted.
Keeth faces charges of receiving stolen property with a $10,000 bond.
